My greatest memory of eating mussels goes back to when I was a child and we would holiday in Lahinch, Co. Clare. My dad is a huge lover of mussels and he would bring back a sack of fresh, locally foraged mussels to our holiday cottage and steam them just like this recipe. We would be eating them out of the pot before they were even served up!
